Click here for the Solution for Firefox
Even though iTunes allows to sync iPhone Bookmarks with both Internet Explorer and Safari, none of the two most popular Web Browsers at the moment, Firefox & Google Chrome, has been included to this
To Synchronize Firefox and Chrome Bookmarks with your iPhone, you need to first sync Google Chrome and/or Firefox Bookmarks with Internet Explorer and then synch iPhone with IE Bookmarks
- In Firefox or Chrome, go to Bookmarks->Organize Bookmarks
- In the dialog window that opens up, click File->Export...
- Save bookmarks.html to your Desktop
- Open Internet Explorer Web Browser and go to File->Import Bookmarks...
- In the window that shows up, double-click bookmarks.html on your Desktop
- Connect your iPhone to your Computer ( iTunes should open up automatically. If not, launch it from Start->All Programs->iTunes->iTunes )
- Click your iPhone in the "Devices" section on the left
- Click the "Info" tab and scroll down to the "Other" section
- Check the "Sync Bookmarks with" option and select "Internet Explorer"
- Click the "Sync" button in iTunes lower-right corner
Notes & possible issues
- Instead of Internet Explorer, you can use Safari as the intermediate step

So?? when are you people going to include Firefox & Google Chrome into Bookmarks syncing???
Dear Juan,
As per November 2011, the situation has not evolved.
I am on a Mac G5, OS 10.5.8. I have too many bookmarks and decided to start over. I did a backup to HTML in case I needed a old book mark. I deleted the Bookmarks.plist and Safari rebuilt a new one with basic starter bookmarks. Good, that is what I wanted.
When I sync with my iPhone 3Gs, the bookmarks don’t change. I reset the iPhone and restored, with the old large bookmarks and tried to overwrite at the next sync, no luck.
I deleted the bookmarks on the iPhone, then tried to sync again, the large bookmarks repopulated the phone.
This started because my bookmarks also sync to Xmarks in the cloud. My data was so large it was taking a while and I had errors.
Deleting files one by one on the iPhone take a long time, if it is too many layers, it will not delete and I need to drill down to delete.
So what next? Anyone have any ideas?
Note: I was using Xmarks on the desktop, not on the iPhone.
I fixed it, go to Applications > iSync.app > iSync > Preferences and click on “Reset Sync History”.
I thought it was only for sync to the clouds, it seems to work for all sync.
Thanks for the tip, I find it easier to just save the bookmarks.html file into Dropbox. Not perfect but I can usually access the latest version through Dropbox if I need a laptop bookmark on the go…
